New Hep C Prevention Video Available

Hep C Connection has completed a video, Hep C Inside and Out, that is targeted to people that are incarcerated in jails, prisons, and community corrections programs, as well as staff members in those facilities. The project was a collaborative effort with the Mountain Plains AIDS Education and Training Center, Center for Research Strategies, and Little Voice. The primary goal of the 14 minute video is to raise awareness of the disease among people who are currently in correctional facilities where HCV rates are estimated to be as high as 35%. Through testimonies from those living with HCV and health care providers, the video provides a compelling overview of the infection, how it is transmitted, how to avoid infection, how HCV damages the liver, and stresses positive steps inmates can take to reduce their risks. The $49.95 video (VHS or DVD) is accompanied by a workbook that provides learning goals and objectives, frequently asked questions and answers, and resources. Additional information on how to order can be found at www.hepc-connection.org or by calling Kathy Jensen at 720-917-3960 or kjensen@hepc-connection.org.
