Hep C Prevention Video Available
Hep C Connection has completed a video, Hep C Inside and Out, that is targeted
to people that are incarcerated in jails, prisons, and community corrections
programs, as well as staff members in those facilities. The project was a
collaborative effort with the Mountain Plains AIDS Education and Training
Center, Center for Research Strategies, and Little Voice. The primary goal of
the 14 minute video is to raise awareness of the disease among people who are
currently in correctional facilities where HCV rates are estimated to be as high
as 35%. Through testimonies from those living with HCV and health care
providers, the video provides a compelling overview of the infection, how it is
transmitted, how to avoid infection, how HCV damages the liver, and stresses
positive steps inmates can take to reduce their risks. The $49.95 video (VHS or
DVD) is accompanied by a workbook that provides learning goals and objectives,
frequently asked questions and answers, and resources. Additional information on
